About us
MonferratoTrails carries Claudio Viarengo’s perspective: his connection to his home region, his photographic sensitivity and a desire to give meaning to the time we live.
Monferrato, a place to experience
A road through vineyards, a village on a hill, light changing along a trail. MonferratoTrails invites you into this landscape with curiosity, on foot or by bicycle, to encounter its people, culture and stories. Routes, parks and local events become opportunities to spend time well and make memories.
Claudio Viarengo: roots and perspective
Claudio lives in Mombercelli, in the Asti area of Monferrato. Piedmont’s hills, industrial work, photography and cycling routes are all part of his journey. He began teaching himself photography in 2022, developing a symbolic, introspective approach and participating in Trieste Photo Days. His images appear on 1x, while his Wikiloc routes include the loop from Belveglio to Crea.
Giving ideas a form
Claudio is a project manager working in industrial automation. He brings complex systems and ideas towards practical results. Photography adds a close attention to light, people and small details. His digital projects turn these ways of seeing into invitations to explore, ask questions and discover possibilities.
Photography: attention, time and emotion
For Claudio, photography is a way of inhabiting the world attentively. Between industrial work and the quiet of nature, it creates room to listen to light and let small details speak. Explore his photographic world at www.claudioviarengo.art.
A shadow on a wall, a face holding a story, the texture of bark: these fragments become encounters between what he feels and what an image awakens in its viewer. His portfolio moves through abstraction, macro, landscapes, people, streets, architecture and intentional camera movement, following the emotion of a moment.
At MUSarMO: Dal bianco alla terra
MUSarMO, Mombercelli’s civic museum of modern and contemporary art, hosted Dal bianco alla terra from 28 March to 3 May 2026. Claudio Viarengo’s photography met the work of painter and body painter Alina Rosu, exploring the human body through change, loss and renewal.

HowImRich: relationships, time and money
HowImRich begins with a personal question: what makes a life rich? Claudio turns it into a journey through relationships, time and money. The people who make a home with us, the hours we feel are our own and the choices our resources open up become different expressions of richness.
Numbers meet everyday life. Family, work, money and time form parts of the same story. Exploring our resources becomes a chance to recognise what we have built and ask how much space we want to give to the people and experiences that matter.
The journey then opens towards others. Global context and links to Save the Children, UNICEF and Médecins Sans Frontières invite us to imagine what part of what we have could mean to someone else. Recognising our richness becomes a starting point for generosity and shared possibilities.
Sharing the beauty of places
MonferratoTrails connects trails, villages, nature and regional life. Territorial sources and photo credits accompany the stories, while images, routes and community contributions add different perspectives. Local businesses and experiences help bring visitors closer to the culture of Monferrato.
