Your account and saved routes

Your account links your display name and email address to your wishlist and recorded outings, including dates, distances, ascent, duration and personal notes. Wishlists and outings are not published on route pages. Sign-in uses session cookies. Email, Google or Apple sign-in is available when the corresponding service is active. When signed out, favorites stay in your browser; when you sign in, they are added to your account’s wishlist.

Reviews and photos

Reviews, photos and captions are checked before publication. Approved contributions are visible to visitors alongside your display name. Before saving uploaded images, the site removes EXIF metadata, including any GPS data: this does not hide people, places or information visible in the photo. Only share content you have the right to publish, and avoid including unnecessary personal information in images or text.

Advertisements and payments

Advertisements appear in the destinations selected by the advertiser, without creating advertising profiles of visitors. Checkout uses PayPal. The site retains purchase references, amounts, statuses and renewal information to manage advertisements, publication, cancellations and refunds. PayPal also processes payment data under its own policy. PayPal credentials are not entered in MonferratoTrails forms. Approved business details and advertisements may be published in purchased placements. Advertisement notifications are service messages, separate from the newsletter.

Your choices

In your space, you can change your display name, remove routes from your wishlist and delete recorded outings. Use Sign out to leave your account. You can remove preferences saved in your browser through its settings: this does not delete your account or the data already saved in it. The analytics preference on this page is stored in the browser you are using.

GetYourGuide affiliate links

Experiences are offered by GetYourGuide. Links contain our partner identifier and a campaign by destination, language and placement, without account data. Only with specific consent do we load official widgets and the Integration Analyzer, which receive technical connection data and measure views, clicks and booking attribution using cookies or local storage. Withdrawing consent reloads the page to stop the scripts. GetYourGuide preferences on the destination site are managed there.

Booking.com · CJ

Booking.com buttons are affiliate links through CJ. This site loads no Booking/CJ widgets, images or pixels during your visit. Clicking a link opens CJ and then Booking.com: these services receive technical connection data and a code identifying the destination, link placement and language. The code contains no account data or visitor identifier. Their own privacy policies apply on those services.

Cookies, local storage and external services

Session cookies are necessary for sign-in and security. Language, favourites and consent choices are stored in your browser when you request them. Optional analytics and GetYourGuide content start only with your consent. Maps open automatically as part of the route page: OpenStreetMap or Google Maps receive technical connection data under their own privacy policies. You can reject every optional category as easily as you accept it.

Navigation analytics

Only with your consent, we collect public page views, navigation between pages, language, screen category, referring domain and actions such as searches, sharing, favourites and download clicks. We do not collect search terms, URL parameters, IP addresses, emails or private area data. A random identifier in tab storage links session events and renews after 30 minutes of inactivity. Events are available to administrators for 90 days; expired data is removed on the next collection. You can stop collection by changing your preferences.

Only with consent, a random browser identifier recognises unique visitors across sessions for 90 days. It is removed when consent is withdrawn and is not linked to accounts. Different browsers, devices or cleared browser data may be counted as separate visitors.

Newsletter

During registration you may freely choose whether to receive news about routes and initiatives. The box is not preselected and subscription is not required to create an account. We retain the choice, language and consent time; you can withdraw it at any time from your profile. Marketing messages will always include a simple unsubscribe method.

Your rights and contact

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and withdraw consent without retroactive effect. Write to info@monferratotrails.net. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Data is retained only for as long as needed for the stated purpose and applicable legal obligations.
