About the trail
A 40 km loop from Ovada crosses the Dolcetto hills and Valle Orba, with panoramic roads, woodland and passages among castles and springs.
What to look out for
From Belforte, San Pietro and Gambina lead towards the Piota. Woodland brings the route below Casaleggio Boiro’s castle, then a dirt ridge opens views of nearby villages. Castelletto d’Orba offers the springs of San Rocco, Santa Limbana and Cannone. Silvano precedes the climb to Roccagrimalda; Madonna della Guardia and Grillano announce Ovada.

Start and practical details
Ovada is the start and finish, returning towards the station. Trekking bike for asphalt and around two kilometres of dirt ridge track; the final descent from Grillano is steep.
