Mornese ( Mornèiz in Piedmont, Mornéize in Liguria , Mornàize [murˈnaizɛ] in mornesino dialect) is an Italian municipality of 651 inhabitants of the Province of Alessandria , in Piemonte , in the extreme hillsides of Alto Monferrato , near the Ligurian Apennines . It is one of the municipalities of Ovadese, historical-cultural area of Lower Piedmont and Monferrato, which takes its name from the city of Ovada . Part of the municipal territory is part of the Regional Park of the Capanne di Marcarolo .
