The mountain is located north of the Padano/ligure watershed; compared to all other reliefs of this part of Appennino, the Tobbio stands out for its great visibility (from the plain in front), due to its spire and particularly steep slopes. On top there is a small church built in 1897 and dedicated to Our Lady of Caravaggio and an emergency refuge owned by the Italian Alpine Club Novi Ligure. From its top you can see both the Gulf of Genoa, just 18 km away as the crow flies, the hills of the Langa and Monferrato as well as vast portions of the Alps and, on days of exceptional visibility, Corsica.

In addition to reachable from the nearby Voltaggio[3], you can also get to Tobbio via the panoramic road coming from the municipality you belong to, Bosio, which shows one of the most interesting profiles.
Characteristic is the Christmas walk at night that the various CAIs of the province organize every year for the evening of December 25 with departure from Eremites Valic, crossroads where the three roads coming from the Capanne di Marcarolo, from Bosio and from Voltaggio meet, located immediately north of Monte.
