About the trail
The Ovadese combines Apennine woodland and vineyard hills on this 35 km mountain-bike loop, with fords, castles and forest sections requiring experience.
What to look out for
Belforte introduces the climb towards La Colma and Magnoni, the ride’s highest point. The descent reaches Cirimilla and the Piota; beyond the Gorzente ford, the route passes below Casaleggio Boiro’s castle. Ridges lead to Lerma, whose castle square and fortified quarter precede the Cengio path. The return passes through Tagliolo.

Start and practical details
Start at Ovada station. Mountain bike; eroded tracks may require pushing. Do not cross the Gorzente in flood and assess other fords; the first section towards Belforte carries traffic.
