About the trail
From Alba to Casale Monferrato through Asti: 94 km connecting towns, the Tanaro countryside and Monferrato hills before finishing beside the Po.
What to look out for
The Tanaro accompanies the first section towards Asti. North of the city come Portacomaro’s countryside, Calliano, Penango and Moncalvo, with its former castle terrace. Madonnina leads towards Pontestura; after the Po bridge, Morano and the embankment lead to Casale’s Castello dei Paleologi. Climbing to Crea would be a detour outside this track.

Start and practical details
Start at piazza Pertinace in Alba and finish in Casale: arrange return transport. Trekking or mountain bike for cycle paths, asphalt and dirt; some crossings and sections use busy roads.
