Basaluzzo ( Basaruss [bazaˈrys] in Piedmont) is an Italian municipality of 1 997 inhabitants of the province Alessandria , in Piemonte . It is located on the edge of the Alexandrian plain, at the gates of Novi Ligure , about 20 kilometers south of the provincial capital , along the SP155 connecting the cities of Novi Ligure and Ovada . Basaluzzo, in the past mainly agricultural, is taking on the size of an industrial center. It rises in a newly undulating area, on the right of the Lemme stream, near its confluence in the Orba, on the north-western slopes that separate the valleys of the Lemme and Scrivia torrents.
