Acqui Terme→Nizza Monferrato

Description of the route

The stage starts in the heart of Acqui Terme, from the Bollente area. Once you have crossed the city centre, you immediately begin to climb the asphalt road towards Moirano. The urban exit gradually gives way to the Brachetto hills, with tidy vineyards and wide views over the Acquese basin.

Beyond Moirano the landscape opens up. The route keeps Castel Rocchero on the left and descends towards Borgo Stazione, at the foot of Alice Bel Colle. Before the underpass, turn onto a minor road that gains altitude again and leads directly to Castel Rocchero.

Once you have crossed the town, follow the SP456 for some stretches, alternating it with long dirt roads immersed in the vineyards. The overall distance and the difference in altitude make this a day to be managed regularly, especially in the hottest hours and in the exposed sections. The hills follow one another until the descent towards Nizza Monferrato, where the Foro Boario marks the conclusion of the stage.
