Description of the route

After crossing the village of Villa San Secondo, the path takes the direction of Corsione. Just beyond the sports center you leave the main road for Strada Boschi: the asphalt gradually gives way to the dirt road and the route enters a wooded area. A long descent leads to the provincial road and then to Callianetto, where the stage changes character again.

Before entering the town, follow a dirt road along the Rio Maggiolino. The sequence of turns leads to a sandy path immersed in the woods, narrow and more challenging especially for those tackling the stage by bicycle. After about a kilometer you move on to a technical section, with continuous ups and downs, which culminates in a large meadow at the top. From here a tortuous descent through woods and vineyards reaches the hamlet of Burie and Strada Valmanera.

The direction becomes that of Asti. After a short stretch you cross the Valmanera stream and re-enter the woods; Once you have found the asphalt, follow Strada Valbodone and Strada Valmorone. The passage under the motorway precedes the urban entrance: you skirt the stadium and Parco Bramante, reaching Corso Dante Alighieri and finally Piazza del Palio. The arrival in the heart of Asti creates a clear contrast with the woods and paths of the central part of the day.
