A green classroom in Cerreto

The enclosed grounds cover more than 35,000 m² and connect with paths in Cerreto Regional Forest. Benches, tables and indoor spaces support exploration, workshops and rest. The Orba stream is a short walk away.

The educational arboretum

Created through a regional project in the 1990s, the arboretum contains 1,044 specimens from 64 species of Europe, Asia and America. Leaves, bark, form and seasonality help visitors identify plants. Nearby natural woodland offers a useful comparison.

The small silkworm house

From April to early July, the silkworm house explains the life cycle from caterpillar to moth. Presentations and direct observation recall a once widespread rural activity. Because it follows the insects’ biological cycle, this is a seasonal experience to arrange in advance.

Planning your day

Educational activities, parties and events require booking. The picnic area has stated weekday hours; weekends and holidays require booking and a fee. Choose among arboretum, workshops, picnic and a Cerreto woodland walk, arranging your visit with the park.

Spaces and activities to combine

A visit can combine several spaces. An 80 m² multipurpose hall supports talks and screenings, while a 50 m² dining room is used for workshops and group days. Outside are twelve picnic tables, a barbecue and the green trail towards the woods. From April to early July the silkworm house adds a seasonal activity supported by multimedia. Families and schools can choose one or two themes before arrival.
