The coat of arms and gonfalone of the municipality of Cassano Spinola had been granted by decree of the President of the Republic of 20 April 1959.[4]
The gonfalone was a white and blue drape loaded with the coat of arms described above.[5]
Following the merger with Gavazzana on 1 January 2018, the Municipality of Cassano Spinola decided to acquire a new civic coat of arms.[6] By deliberation of the municipal council of 14 October 2020, the official concession of the coat of arms, gonfalone and flag was initiated.[7] The new municipal emblem was granted by decree of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella of 1 December 2021.[8][9]
The blue field and the branch of Cassano's spin is maintained while the golden tower is taken from Gavazzana[10]; the band represents the course of the river Scrivia, on whose right bank lies the municipality, and at the same time the street Postumia, a fundamental road for the development of the country.

The new gonfalone is a drape white and blue party like the previous. The flag is a drape party of white and blue, loaded with the municipal coat of arms.[7]

- The Palazzo Millelire was residence of the noble family of the Spinola in the 16th century, following the abandonment of the castle for a more elegant residence. Typical Ligurian residence, it was completely modified at the end of the nineteenth century, with the construction of a new floor and the transformation of the roof on the terrace; the façade was decorated with bugnate on the ground floor and with neo-Gothic elements (windows with newsstands and floral motifs) on the noble floor. The loggiati, closed by large stained glass windows, were subsequently deleted in 1930
- The Palazzo della Guacciorna is located at the limits of the territory of Cassano in the direction of Tortona. The farmhouse, equipped with a vast extension of land, was built in the first decades of '600 by the Ottobono brothers. It was purchased by Claudio Spinola in 1652 for the price of 2535 shields. He then moved to the Marchesi De Maria of Genoa and from these to the family of Senator Pietro Tortarolo, current owner. The complex maintains its original architectural lines in the system, although acute arc monophores are neo-Gothic inspiration
