Spineto Scrivia (Spinegh or Spinèj in Piedmont) is an Italian municipality of 356 inhabitants[1] from the province of Alessandria in the Piemonte.
According to some researchers, the name derives from the word "spina" and would have to do with a station or impasse Templare on the way to Genoa and the sea.
Adding the specific Scrivia It was only in 1928.

The community of Spineto Scrivia, at first, was governed by consuls whose numerous acts are preserved at the Historical Archives of the Municipality.

The seat of the Consular Congregations was in the "Castello" where the room called "The archive", perhaps the primitive archive of the community, and the consular room that is two chambers forming the body of the Municipal House, called Castle. In October 28, 1869, the Municipality appealed to her for sale. Another place was used as a prison.
Today's municipal premises are the rest of the old church, more in detail the presbytery and the canonical. In early 1900 the new school building was built, partly on the site of the old cemetery and partly on the property of Don Domenico Cantù and Assanelli Carlo.
In 1928, with the addition of the specification name "Scrivia", Spineto became Spineto Scrivia. In 1929 the neighbor Paderna It was incorporated into the Municipality of Spineto Scrivia but, in 1949, it became independent and common.
