Situated 10 km west of the provincial capital Asti, Baldichieri develops in the plain of the rio Triversa. The oldest part of the village, with the municipality and parish church, is located on the slopes of the hills just north of the town.
Featuring low hills, the territory of Baldichieri d'Asti is crossed by the A21 motorway, the Turin-Genova railway and the Highway 10 Padana Inferiore.
History of Baldichieri d'Asti

The finding of finds from the 1st century AD. testifies to the Roman origins of a first settlement in the area. The Roman road Via Fulvia crossed the territory where the current village rises. The first documents to quote Baldichieri date back to 1041, when it consolidated as a medieval village located in the prey of the valley where they converge rio di Monale and torrent Triversa.
Upstream of the village there was a castle, destroyed in 1553 by the French troops. The parish church dedicated to St. Second Martyr dates back to 1673. In the following centuries Baldichieri followed the events of the Kingdom of Sardinia. The twentieth century saw the country actively participate in the Resistance. Today the municipality is home to food and manufacturing companies.
Symbols
The coat of arms and gonfalone of the municipality of Baldichieri d'Asti were granted by royal decree of 3 December 1934.[5]
The head of purple red is what remains of the head of the Littorio, deprived of the decorative elements that were mandatory for all municipal coats granted during the fascist regime.[6]
The banner is a blue cloth.[7]

The first modern participation of the Municipality of Baldichieri in Palio di Asti, a bareback horse race that takes place every year in the central Piazza Vittorio Alfieri in Asti, dates back to 1988. In the past, a team from Baldichieri achieved a victory in the Asti race: the Beata Concezione di Baldichieri, which won the 1793 Palio with the jockey Reboà. The results obtained since 1988 are listed below (the best results obtained so far are the victory at the Palio dei Comuni in 2019 and the second place in 1994).
