Strevi stands at the base, and at the top, of the buttress that borders the plain on the left bank of the Bormida river, about thirty kilometers from the capital Alessandria and seven from Acqui Terme.
The main nucleus is made up of the two villages, Superiore and Inferiore, or more simply, as the Strevesi say, di Sopra and di Sotto (Borg ad sura And Borg ad suta).
The most recent settlements have also developed to the north and south of the oldest town, along the former State Road 30 which passes right between the two villages. These settlements (one called "il Girasole", the other as the "swimming pool" area, due to the presence of a bathing facility open to the public in summer) have become much quieter and more livable due to the construction of a variant that bypasses the town, drastically reducing vehicular traffic.
Strevi is famous for the production of particular biscuits called "amaretti".
The sunny slopes of Strevi are known for their viticultural production, dedicated to the production of wines.

Strevi is connected to Alessandria from the former state road 30 (the ancient Via Aemilia Scauri), which passes right between the two main inhabited nuclei, although a variant has been built that bypasses the country, cutting out also some commercial activities that saw precisely in the forced transit inside the country its source of gain. The state road continues south towards Acqui Terme first, and then Savona.
The railway station is located on the edge of the Borgo di Sotto, and it is part of the single track line that, like the state road, connects Savona and Alessandria.
