About the trail

The Coniolo path joins the hill to Po, following the traces of river transport and mining activity. The descent towards the river leaves room for a long stretch along the bank, before returning between farms, fields and slopes.

What to look out for

From the streets of the town you descend towards Mombuè and Po. Along the river, information panels tell about the transport of the extracted materials; Porto Vecchio and Porto Nuovo remember the ferry crossings. A hairpin climb reaches Coniolo Basso and the sports centre. Beyond Case Mongò and Cascine Zerbi, the loop crosses the countryside and crosses the road to Pontestura, in the area of the historic mining railway. A final passage on the valley floor precedes the ascent to Coniolo Bricco.
