About the trail
The Altavilla Monferrato loop offers a succession of views over the towns and vineyards of Monferrato. The panoramic openings are flanked by the ancient walls of the village, small chapels and the memories of the distillation and the trams that connected these hills.
What to look out for
Viale Unità d’Italia runs along the walls and introduces the descent to Cittadella, where Distilleria Mazzetti, Museo della Grappa and Museo del Tramways are located. From the countryside you go up towards a view of Vignale and the church of San Grato. The chapel of San Bernardino also opens the panorama on Frassinello and Olivola. Beyond Molignano, the ridge between the vineyards looks towards Casorzo, the castle of Montemagno and the tower of Viarigi, before returning to Altavilla Monferrato.

Start and practical details
Departure from piazza Umberto I, at the parish church, with parking nearby. The loop is 9.06 kilometers long and takes about two and a half hours. It includes asphalt, country roads and a short staircase; To visit museums you need to check their opening and access methods.
