About the trail

Between Murisengo and Villadeati, the Monte Lungo path combines glimpses of hilly villages with a stretch in the woods. The sulfur spring la Pirenta and the two castles give character to a loop in which the countryside often accompanies the views of the towns.

What to look out for

From the town hall square you cross Murisengo, dominated by the church and the castle, then go down towards the cemetery and San Sebastiano. A gravel road runs alongside Monte Lungo, covered by oaks and chestnut trees, and reaches la Pirenta. The path narrows as it enters the woods, then goes up towards Villadeati. Here the historic center and the castle suggest a stop before starting the return journey. A small chapel along the road indicates the passage towards Cascina Zucca; from there the descent and the final ascent lead back to the streets of Murisengo.
