About the trail

The Miroglio road crosses the border landscape between the hills and the Po plain. From Varengo, a long loop brings together villages, woods and panoramic ridges, passing through Moncestino and the places linked to the ancient Miroglio settlement.

What to look out for

San Rocco and Cascina Rairolo introduce the descent into the valley, followed by the ascent towards San Michele, near Villamiroglio. The route meets Vallegiolitti and the church of Santo Stefano, then reaches the houses of Case Muro e Brusa. Beyond Seminenga, Moncestino opens up the view of the Po plain. The wooded descent leads to Piagera; the long flat stretch towards Cascina Ventolina precedes Bric Castello, where the Miroglio manor stood. A final climb in the woods closes the tour.

Start and practical details

The departure is at the parking lot of the Varengo cemetery. It's 16.51 kilometers, about four hours, on asphalt, gravel and paths. The trail signs are lacking in the first part and the track after Cascina Rairolo is deteriorated. In MTB some passages are demanding; keep the track available.
