About the trail
The Colli Pietrosi tell the story of the relationship between Alfiano Natta and the stone of its hills. The route passes two ancient quarries, crosses woods and meadows and reaches Cardona, alternating the details of the rocks with open views of the surrounding countryside.
What to look out for
From the center you go up to via Montubaldo and via Castello, where a first panorama opens up. Along strada Santo Stefano, rocky walls, brooms and thyme accompany the approach to the old quarry of Alfiano Natta. The ridge crosses meadows and vineyards, then enters between oaks and ash trees up to the Cardona quarry and the small picnic area. The village introduces the church of Sant’Agata; in via Troglio three large hackberries stand out. A country road takes you back to the starting point.

Start and practical details
We start from piazza Vittorio Emanuele III, called piazza Gatto, with parking and fountain. The loop measures 6.54 kilometres, approximately two hours of walking. The surface alternates asphalted roads and rural or wooded stretches; the quarries are landmarks along the route, without implying access to their interior.
