About the trail
Between Cantavenna and Chioalengo, the landscape passes from terraces overlooking the Po to cultivated valleys. It is a relatively short but lively loop that unites small brick villages, woods and memories of the Resistance on the Gabiano hills.
What to look out for
From the church of Cantavenna, the stretch on SP5 offers views of the plain and rice fields. Towards Zoalengo you then leave the road to enter a forest of oaks and maples. At Mincengo the brick houses precede cappella Don Bosco. The descent reaches a valley of fields, poplars and vineyards; the subsequent climb reopens the panorama of the hills. At Chioalengo you come across the monument to the partisans, before returning to Cantavenna.
