About the trail
Between Montiglio Monferrato and Tonco, the Fossil Path encounters Romanesque parish churches, small villages and panoramic roads. The stage crosses the landscape of the valleys and slopes several times, with the Rinco tower offering a recognizable reference during the approach to the town.
What to look out for
The route passes San Lorenzo, the Romanesque parish church of Montiglio Monferrato, then descends and ascends towards the sanctuary of Madonna del Carmine. A new curve in the landscape leads near the church of Santi Sebastiano e Fabiano and the center of Scandeluzza. We then continue towards Rinco, recognizable by the high castle tower, entering the core of the village. Beyond Castelcebro you lose altitude up to the provincial road in the locality Gaminella. The last climb leads to Tonco on a panoramic route, leaving behind the sequence of small towns crossed.
