About the trail

The Parco Forestale dell’Alberone offers a short walk among the trees of the hills of Cocconato. Botanical plaques, a pond and wooden structures invite you to observe the forest up close, on a route that descends into the valley and climbs up towards a panoramic hill.

What to look out for

The Accoglienza presents the map and plan of the park. The via del lago descends between cherry trees, plum trees, hawthorns and other species identified by signs. At the lowest point, a stilt-like structure spans the pond and houses a large table. The ascent reaches another wooden building overlooking the valley, with Cocconato and its parish church in the background. The via del sole allows you to reach the hilltop before returning to the entrance.

Start and practical details

The car park at the entrance can be reached from Strada Mondo. The loop measures approximately 2 kilometres, with 100 meters of climbing and an approximate hour, on dirt and grassy tracks. The main branch is suitable for sports strollers, avoiding the steep shortcut at the hill. Check current park hours.
