Symbols

The coat of arms and gonfalone of the municipality of Odalengo Grande were granted by decree of the President of the Republic no. 1832 of 25 March 1988.[4]

"Troncato semipartito: the first, truncated with red and silver; the second, of blue, to the lily of silver; the third, of gold, to the head of natural blackberry, clawed with silver. Exterior ornaments from the Municipality.»

Red and silver are the colors of Monferrato; the lower part resumes the blason of the Gozzani family or Gozani (inquarified: in the first and fourth of blue, to the silver lily; in the second and third of gold, to the head of natural blackberry, cited on the forehead by a band of silver), family that received the fiefdom of Odalengo Grande in 1673.

The banner is a blue cloth.

View San Quilico Tower
  • Torre di San Quilico: the tower is located near the stream Stura, in the homonymous hamlet and dates back to the 12th century and was the bell tower of the ancient parish church of San Quilico, now missing.

There is also evidence of the presence of an ancient cemetery, just a little by little gnawed by the floods of the nearby watercourse, which together with the findings of rubble, scrap, weapons and old coins, are one of the most important testimonies that in the area there was a quite important settlement, probably coming from an ancient Roman pago.

In a document of 29 May 1725 Pietro Secondo Radicati, bishop of Casale, describes the church in the following terms: "This church has three naves, of which the central one in turn and the other two with the bare roof, this roof is found in bad state and is on the point of falling."

The style is Romanesque, realized with the alternation of tuff and bricks, with the presence of several orders of hanging arches. There are three orders of windows, the last one consisting of two-way windows. The construction is in grey tuff, in the first stretch closed by elegant and classic cross arches, and then red bricks and roses. Monophore stands are placed in the second and third piece, and four biphres on the top are surmounted by hanging arches of crowning. [5]
