History of Rocchetta Palafea

SymbolsExplore this chapter

The village is situated on a hill overlooking the Belbo Valley. As you can see from the name, Rocchetta was born as a military garrison and of it remains the tower and part of the walls surrounding it. The village, due to its border position, belonged first to the Marquisato Aleramico, then in 1347 it passed to the Municipality of Genoa, which enfeoffed it to Enrico del Carretto.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Rocchetta Palafea was granted by decree of the President of the Republic of 16 March 1956.[4]

"Party of red and silver, at the castle of each other, torricellato of a central piece, put on the guelfa, closed and windowed of black. Exterior ornaments from the Municipality.»

The banner is a blue cloth.
