Treville (Tërvila in Piedmont) is an Italian municipality of 261 inhabitants[1] from the province of Alessandria, in Piemonte.
History of Treville
SymbolsExplore this chapter
The name of Treville appears for the first time in a document of 1202, in a decree, with which the Marquis Bonifacio I Aleramo invested the manor the noble house Anselmo Musso di Paciliano.
The local statutes date back to 1303 and are among the oldest in Monferrato.
During the Mantuan domain, the Gonzaga sold it to Giulio Strozzi (1590) and later to Gerolamo Amarotto de' Andreasi (1602).
In 1699 the feud was acquired by Giacomo Bartolomeo Gozani, whose rich family commissioned Palazzo Treville Casale Monferrato.
From the year 1713 it passed under the Savoy family and followed the fate of the Savoy house.[4]
Symbols
The coat of arms and gonfalone were granted by decree of the President of the Republic of 2 April 2001.[5]
