History of Rocchetta Tanaro
Symbols · HonorsExplore this chapter
The first inhabitants arrived at least four millennia ago through the Tanaro River and settled in the bends and the prominences that the river formed along its course. The recent findings of the New Year's Neolithic, as well as the abundance in the soil of paleontological and fossil finds (mastodon, dinosaur, shells) report to geological eras[4].
In the November 1994 the commune was almost totally submerged by the flood of the river Tanaro.
