The coat of arms is inspired by the harps of Marquis Natta (of silver, with three bands of red, to the green cork oak, six branches, purple acorn, traversing).

At the end of the last century in the country was widespread the activity of weaving of cotton and hemp, as well as the extraction of gravel from the quarries (now disused) located on the hills north of the village, one of which, near Cardona fraction, is in partial requalification as an equipped area and destination of walks.
Currently the main resources of the village are agriculture and in particular viticulture. The vineyards cover most of the hills of Val Versa and Valle Cerrina and the production of wine is a very important voice for the local economy. Forages, vegetables, fruit and cereals are also grown.
The municipality also houses sulphur-salt-iodic water sources in Tròglio and Are. Their beneficial properties are now undermined by pollution.
